What is the plan?

The buildings would stand near Wellington Road and High Street, south of downtown. One would have 32 floors. The other would have 22. City records confirm they would share seven parking spaces.

Why build it this way?

The builder says 98 homes would have lower rents. The plan sits along the Wellington rapid bus route, and the builder expects many people living there to use the bus.

What worried people?

But city staff and neighbours raised concerns. They worried about the buildings’ size and space for cars, visitors and deliveries.

What happens next?

According to the London Free Press, the committee voted 3–0 to recommend turning down the plan. Council is expected to make its final decision on October 14.

More homes matter. So does making sure people can get around safely and easily.
